Wood, a precious raw material
Damy's demanding specifications:
In cooperage, as in wine, the quality of the raw material conditions
that of the finished product. The Damy Cooperage uses a very strict
wood selection process, in close collaboration with their stave-makers,
in order to provide wine-growers, cellar masters and oenologists
with the very best oak species from the greatest forests.
We therefore offer a representative range of the various French
and foreign species of oak:
- Oak from the forest of Allier, Vosges, Nièvre, Burgundy
and Central France
- Oak from Eastern European Countries
- American oak

This label, created by the French Coopers' Federation, is issued
by the Technical Wood Centre, ensures that all the stages in the
creation of each cask comply with the strictest quality conditions
:
- Traceability of batches of staves
- Control of maturing of the stave (humidity level)
- Compliance with technical production standards
